In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate


THE BRANCHES OF THE HEART (ITS DEGREES)


As the branches of the heart are seven, the degrees of the heart, too are determined as seven
parts. Both emanate from an origin. The qualities and properties that exist in the braches of
the heart potential ability or in effect turn into ACTION and STATE in the degrees through
making remembrances (dhikr) the spiritual contacting and listening to the religious speeches.
Between the two, there is the alteration of degree only in terms of MANIFESTATION and
DEIGNING.


1- HEART: It is two-fingers-width beneath the left hand-side breast. As one keeps
repeating the name AL- JALAL (the majestic, the Sublime), a LIGHT in the color of
RED AGATE appears.
2- SOUL: It is two-fingers-width beneath the right hand-side breast. When its YELLOW
LIGHT appears, then one passes to the degree of SECRET.
3- SECRET: It is two-fingers-width above the left hand-side breast. Its WHITE LIGHT
appears.
4- CONCEALED: It is two-fingers-width above the right hand-side breast. Its light is
seen as EMERALDISH GREEN COLOUR.
5- OCCULT: Its place is the middle of the two breasts. Its light is seen EXTRA WHITE
or EXTRA DARK.
6- THE SUBTLETIES OF NAFS: Its place is the middle of the two eye-brows. Its light
is seen as ORANGE YELLOW.
7- THE SUBTLETIES OF THE GENERAL) NAFS: Upon seeing all lights, the qualities
and perfections that are virtually hidden appear as the actions of the heart in the
general nafs as it happens at each degree.
One can attain the DIVINE HELP with a faith conforming to the creed of the community of
sunnah, making his money lawfully, having a sincere purpose, continuing the prayers of those
OBLIGATORY (FARD), WAJIB and SUNNAH ones which are more likely to be accepted,
the hidayah of Allah Taala, the intercession of the prophet (peace be upon him) and the
support of his spiritual guide and with his endeavors. His all organs repeat the name Al-
JALAL (the Majestic, the Sublime) and he can hear their remembrance by his physical ears.

d) The illnesses of the heart, their remedies, and its health.

Its illness:
In a noble verse Allah Taala decrees:
“There is a sickness in their hearts which Allah has increased. For them there is a
painful punishment because they lie.” (Surah Al Baqarah, 2/10)
It is understood that this noble verse is about the illnesses that is related to the SPIRITUAL
part of the heart, because the reason for the worsening of the illness is the lies they keep
telling. Telling a LIE is related to the interior- subtle, spiritual structure of humans.
The matter of what the spiritual illnesses are bears importance of discussion as well. As
without diagnosis you can not treat an illness, it is necessary to identify the illnesses of the
INNER REALM of the heart. In general terms, it is possible to describe it as NOT
FULFILLING THE ORDERS OF ALLAH TAALA AND NOT AVOIDING THE THINGS
HE PROHIBITS. First one should learn the ORDERS AND PROHIBITIONS occurring in
the Islamic catechism books. All of the divine orders are important. One can not be preferred
to the other. However, there are some orders among them that have PRIORITY. Our scholars
call it the priority of what is more important to what is important. Those who are more
necessary and more important are the first to deal with. The most necessary and important
knowledge is taught by the noble Qur’an.


THE FIRST VERSE that has been revealed to our valuable prophet (peace be upon him) has
PRIORITY TO ALL OTHER ORDERS:
“1 Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Sustainer who has created,
2 created the human from a germ-cell (blood clot =alaqah).” ( Surah al ‘Alaq, 96/1-2)
This is the first order. Knowing ALLAH DHUL JALAL (POSSESSOR OF MAJESTY). The
method of getting this order of knowing from capacity to action is given after that, and the
importance of knowing him with the name of RABB (master) is emphasized. RABB (master,
sustainer) is a noun created from the adjective of ar-Rububiyyah (mastership). Mastership is
to take the objects and our organs with subtle structure to the maturity by passing through
phases and stages until they can reach to the environment in which they can fulfill their
creation purpose. The life of humans is not sufficient to understand or write the phases of
mastership of all creatures…. “HE CREATED THE HUMAN FROM A GERM-CELL”…
This noble verse shows us the closest sea of the mastership attribute of Allah.
The germ-cell (leech, blood clot) is the basis of the formation of our bodily structure and here
it refers to the MALE AND FEMALE synthesis cell which has been repeated several times so
far in the book. This cell is smaller than one millionth of a millimeter. Here the stages
humans go though to become a perfect bodily structure are indicated, the mastership attribute
of ALLAH is brought forward, and it is stated that the training is done by the will and
command of the RABB (master, sustainer) name of Allah. The miraculous characteristic of
the glorified Qur’an is inserted into its each verse and each letter of these verses. The meaning
contained in the first revealed verse, is stated in the first verse of the Surah the OPENER with
a different style and beauty.


The noble verse decrees:
“In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Gracious, Praise be to Allah, Lord of the
Worlds. (Surah Al Fatihah, 1/1)
In the Surah al ‘Alaq, with the command of “Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your
Sustainer”, in READING and KNOWING the priority is given to the matters of knowing and
remembering, after this it is ordered to know the attribute of MASTERSHIP by considering
the delicate, detailed and balanced creation of men and the creation phases relating to the
scientific truths.
The same method and style are valid in the Surah Al Fatihah, too, i.e. after saying “In the
Name of Allah, THE MERCIFUL, THE MOST GRACIOUS”, it is stated that ALLAH is
WORTHY OF AND DESERVES being praised due to his being the master of all worlds. It is
stated in summary that it is Allah who created subatomic particles, then respectively he
created cells, molecules, the first matter, objects, stars and skies, galactic systems, the world
and all matters it contains, things, and living beings. In the phases and stages of this creation,
and in his taking them to the realm of existence, he showed power, will, knowledge,
mathematics, balance, all the delicacy, the art of creation and trained them with his RABB
(master) attribute. For that reason, Allah deserves to be praised and esteemed. Even the most
specialized scholars of each science have limited knowledge in their field and at some point
they feel weak and unable to understand the essence, inner side and substance of their subject.
It is impossible for a human to know everything in the universe, even in general terms.

It is known that in a noble prayer of the hodjah of the universe says:
“O MY SUSTAINER, I AM UNABLE TO KNOW HOW TO THANK AND PRAISE
YOU”.
This prayer of the perfect person who is at the zenith of knowing Allah Taala is enough to
understand the greatness of Allah Dhul Kamal. There are so many things to be written.
However, neither the size of the book, nor the capacity of the weak author allows doing so.
Therefore, THE FIRST ILLNESS OF THE HEART IS BEING DEPRIVED OF OR
INATTENTIVE TOWARDS THE MENTIONED KNOWLEDGE. That is why it has to be
cured first, has priority over other illnesses of the heart. Unless this illness has been cured, it
is not possible to cure other illnesses. As the first revealed verse, as well as the fist verse of
the first revealed surah for being about on the same topic, this shows its importance and value.
We repeatedly mention THE DIVINE ORDER in our subjects. It is the name of the universe
that maintains its existence with its known and unknown borders.
The divine order is the name of the totality of the living beings from the penguins in the Poles
and other Polar animals to the living beings up to the tropical regions, the fish in the
aquariums, the animals that sleep throughout the winter, the microscopic creatures, the fish in
the seas, the birds in the air, the forest animals like the lion KING, atoms, stars, the solar
system and the colonial galaxies.
On the other hand, it is the name of the human who started as a cell and was passed though
different mastership phases and then was invented in the FAIREST STATURE.
It is necessary to see the mentioned order by THE EYES OF SCIENCE, but this is not
enough. The most essential thing is to know who created and arranged this order. If there is an
order, there has to be someone who arranged and regulated it. One can not say there is an
order, but no possessor of this order.
“Allah is the creator of every thing”
Creation is with the mastership, a complementary of it.
As per these explanations, the perfection in the order of the universe makes mandatory the
existence of the God who invented and built it. If a blind person rejects the existence of the
things he can not see, this does not cancel the existence of the things that are seen. Likewise if
those who do not have the eyes of KNOWLEDGE and SAGACITY reject the existence of the
God, this does not negate the past eternal existence of Allah. The inability to see can not be
attributed to the God.


Yes, Allah Taala is the creator of everything. He is the BEST CREATOR. As per a noble verse
says:
“Who makes most excellent everything that He creates. He originated the creation of the
human out of clay” (Surah as Sajdah, 32/7)
The BEST CREATION art of Allah is apparent in each creature. One should examine his
bodily structure by standing in front of a full-length mirror. All medical authorities, botanic
scholars, the experts of aesthetic, the specialists of all fields that are related to human body
should study the structure of human by using their expertise. They should seek flaws at this
look.
There is an atmosphere pressure of 15 kg in one square centimeter part of the surface of the
human body. One should calculate the weight in the shoulders of men and see that most of
them continue their living joyfully, by wrestling, or boxing or lifting weights while a very
small of them is busy with reflection. He should think the ball-like head of men contains all
perfections; all specialists of any fields take their material (expertise) he need from this balllike
organ and should try to find a defect by mobilizing his expertise. He should do this not to
be able to find a defect, but to understand that he can not find any defects.
Our imaginary researcher can not come to the conclusion that the body has any defects, faults
or unnecessary and unreasonable organs by checking with his physical eyes on his head, by
evaluating with his comprehension, or by reflecting with his intellect or by appraising with his
other material or immaterial structure, and eventually he feels weak. For instance let us
assume he plans to put our eyes in somewhere else in the body other than their current place,
his all options turn into a state that ruins the aesthetic, to harm the angel of sight and make the
eyes unable to do their duty. Eyes have no alternative than their current place. Mouth, the
gustative faculty, hands and feet, genitals and hip all are located in the correct place and have
no alternative place. Shortly the organism of the human is BEST STATURE from all view
points.


A noble verse in the Qur’an says:
“Indeed, We created the human with the fairest stature” Surah The Fig, 95/4)
He is affected by the verdict of the above verse. The person, who seeks defects, affirms
WILLINGLY OR UNWILLINGLY there is not.
“You cannot see any inconsistency in the creation of the Merciful. Return your gaze, do
you see any crack! Then return your gaze once more and yet again, your gaze comes
back to you dazzled, and tired.” (Surah Al Mulk, 67/ 3-4).
Come on, turn your vision, can you see any flaws or faults? Turn your eyes again and again,
eventually that eye turn back to you low and truly defeated. Now it is weak and helpless.
The noble name of ‘the Most Gracious’ is from the beautiful names of Allah. As a
comprehensive name, it is the closest name to the name ALLAH. The most gracious
established on the throne of his Almightiness. There is the command of this DOMINANT
NAME in the order of the universe. There is no disorder in its RULING and CREATION.
The researches aiming at finding flaws and defects in it feel weak and helpless.


The last word he can say is:
“Hallowed is the God, the best of artisans” (Surah the Believers, verse no 14)
Blessed is Allah, the Best of creators, who creates everything in the best shape.
The illnesses of the heart are many. The biggest of them is to be INATTENTIVE towards the
EXISTENCE and ONENESS of the God. The name of this illness is ASCRIBING DIVINITY
TO AUGHT BESIDE ALLAH in the Islamic catechism books. Those who are inattentive to
Allah accepts the causes and effects as GOD, these become the IDOLS of the heart. This is
the biggest of the grave sins and there is no FORGIVENESS. If he embraces Islam, then the
chance of being forgiven appears. Islam saves from ascribing divinity to aught beside Allah.
The details of this subject will be explained comprehensively in the special chapter of nafs alammarah
(The nafs that urges evil), nafs al Lawwamah (The self-reproaching nafs), nafs al
mulhimah (The inspired nafs) that are related to the degrees of nafs and bad morality.
THE REMEDY AND HEALTH OF THE HEART
It is stated that the heart has two sections that are called as material and spiritual. Its health,
too, will be dealt with as two parts.


The heath of the material part:
A noble hadith decrees:
“WORSHIP CONSISTS OF TEN PARTS, NINE OF WHICH IS EATING WHAT IS
LAWFUL (HALAL).”
This hadith should be understood as NINE OUT OF TEN CONDITIONS for the prayers to be
accepted achieved through eating what is lawful. Other FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES, I.E.
FARD (OBLIGATION), WAJIB, SUNNAH must be in the remaining one condition. That is
why the health of the material side of the heart has priority. As the venerable Visali states in
his eulogy of THE SEVEN REMEDIES OF THE HEART:

1- Speaking less
There are hadith of the prophet about the virtue of keeping silent:
“THE PEACE OF THE PERSON HAPPENS WITH HIS KEEPING SILENT.”
“THERE IS WISDOM IN BEING SILENT”.
“THERE ARE TEN CONDITIONS OF THE WISDOM, NINE OF WHICH IS TO KEEP
SILENT; THE OTHER ONE IS TO SPEAK NEVER EVER”.
“EITHER SPEAK WHAT IS GOOD, OR KEEP SILENT.”
In one of his couplets our venerable spiritual master says this:
If your word is silver, your silence may be gold
The mature people have found the perfection by keeping silent.
It is said that if the tongue speaks too much, this shows that the heart is dead. If the tongue
keeps silent, the heart speaks. This is the first pillar of the liveliness of the heart.

2- Sleeping Less
The saints prefer sleeping less.
The last preference of or prophet (peace be upon him) was to get up in the last one third of the
night, perform the night (tahajjud) prayer, and then until the time of ishraq (45 minutes after
the sunrise) he was busy with reciting the Qur’an, remembrance or addressing to the muslims
and then he prayed salat al ishraq (ishraq prayer) between 2 or 6 cycles.
Sleeping between the sunrise and the time of ishraq and also within 45-minute time before the
sunset is makruh (undesirable).

3- Eating less
Eating too much causes languor and feeling sleepy. It is an obstacle for the night prayer.
Three formulas for eating less are advised. Dividing the stomach hypothetically into three,
and filling one part with food, one part with water and leaving the third part empty. The
second formula is one half of the stomach should be filled with FOOD AND WATER, and
the second half should be left empty. The third formula is to leave the table before feeling full,
i.e. as some appetite remained.

4- Seclusion from the creatures
Seclusion means isolation and loneliness, the creatures include the people and other creatures.
Except very necessary communications, loneliness should be preferred in relations with the
common people who have not experienced a spiritual journey or is not interested in it. The
hadith that we mentioned above in the section of speaking less i.e. “EITHER SPEAK WHAT
IS GOOD, OR KEEP SILENT” contains enlightening information about the qualities of the
public gatherings.
Another honorable hadith is as follows: EIGHT ASSEMBLIES (MAJLIS) INCREASE
EIGHT THINGS:
a) Being in the assembly of knowledge: This causes some increase in the knowledge level of
the person. However, this assembly must be cleansed from EMPTY talks and only the right
things must be spoken there. Otherwise it loses its quality of being an assembly of
knowledge.
b) Being in the assembly of the good people: This causes the God-consciousness to increase.
The issue is clear. What directs the person to God-consciousness is the assembly that makes
him experience that atmosphere and lifestyle.
c) Being in the assembly of the poor: This causes some increase in the contentment regarding
one’s economic conditions. However, here the POVERTY refers to the spiritual poverty. If
the person does not appropriate his actions for himself, and then does not appropriate his
attributes and then his existence, none of them for himself, and says everything belongs to
Allah and accepts like that it means he has no possessions. This is the real poverty, i.e. the
spiritual poverty.
These three assemblies are useful, and being in them is virtuous and better than
LONELINESS.
The below five assemblies are detrimental and considered as the assemblies of the common
people.
d) Being in the assemblies of the ruling class: This causes higher hardheartedness.
e) Being in the assemblies of the wicked people: This leads to increase of wickedness and
sins. Who is wicked? They are those who do not practice the principles of Islam and the faith
and those whose situation is not compatible with Islam.
f) Being in the assemblies of the women: this leads to the increase of sexuality. Here we mean
the assembly of unlawful (canonically stranger) women, that is being with the ladies whom
there is no obstacle to get married to as per the rules of the Shari’a. (A muslim adult can sit in
the assembly of his wife, his mother, his grandmother, his daughter, his daughter-in-law, his
paternal aunt and his maternal aunt, and those who are explained in 13 categories whom he
can not marry as per the Islamic rules).
g) Being in the assembly of the children: This results in wasting the time. Except there is a
necessity or obligation, being together with the children means wasting time. This necessitates
going downward to the level of the kids, talking about toys and playthings and this means
wasting the capital of life.
h) Being in the assembly of the affluent people: This causes the level of greed and
covetousness to increase. The heart of the rich people is full of economic matters, money,
goods, finance etc. As the tongue is the translator of the heart, they always talk about these
matters with the people around them. As the friends in the assembly are inclined to the
worldly possessions, his heart may be influenced and his greed and covetousness increase.
The heart is the place that Allah looks at. Another quality of it is that it can not have two
things together.
When one comes, the other one leaves. The economic issues that the rich people talk about fill
the heart and expel what is inside. Therefore the increase in GREED and COVETOUSNESS
should mean this. As a result, among eight assemblies one can join, the first three are useful
and better than isolation if the conditions are there, while the other five assemblies are
detrimental as they make the person be oblivious of ALLAH and he is exposed to neglect.
I remember that I had seen this information about these eight assemblies more than forty years
ago in a book. I could not find this book in my library after that time. Here I take it as a hadith
with some reservation in my mind; however, I could not see it in other hadith books, either.
Nevertheless my heart accepts its content fully, and I consider it at least as the word of a great
person.


5- WHOLE REFLECTION
This means a Muslim not forgetting the existence and ONENESS of Allah in every situation
of his life. It is attainment of the reflection in the word of a great person: WHEREVER I
LOOKED AT, I SAW ALLAH. Viewing of Allah means knowing and seeing the NAMES
and ATTRIBUTES of Allah with the certainty of knowledge.

6- CONTINUOUS REMEMBRANCE
This means remembrance of Allah continuously. Continuous dhikr (remembrance) is one of
the crucial remedies of the heart. The Great Qur’an orders remembrance in its 90 verses.
However, continuous dhikr is risky unless the person reaches to a certain level or gets leave
(sort of permission like a licence) from a qualified spiritual guide. These cited here are
necessary things for the life of the heart. However, as it happens in any treatment, here, too,
the suggestions and supervision of a spiritual guide is needed.

7-THE LOVE OF ALLAH COVERING THE HEART

BEAUTY OF ALLAH)
CONTINUE TO USE THESE SEVEN SPIRITUAL REMEDIES
ONE IS EATING LESS, THE SECOND IS TALKING LESS
THE THIRD IS ISOLATION FROM THE CREATURES, THE FOURTH IS SLEEPING
LESS
THE FIFTH IS CONTINUOUS REMEMBRANCE, THE SIXTH IS THE COMPLETE
REFLECTION
THE SEVENTH IS THE COVERING OF THE HEART BY THE LOVE OF ALLAH, A
DOOR IS OPENED FROM THE HEART
SEES THOUGH IT THE LIGHT OF THE JAMAAL, AND SEES THE PROPHET
SEES BOTH PROPHETS AND SAINTS
SEES ALSO THE ALMIGHTY THRONE AND THE SEAT, AND THE ANGELS
REVOLVING AROUND IT
SEES ALSO THE ARENA FOR JUDGMENT, THE BRIDGE, THE SCALE, THE DEEDS
OF THE PUBLIC
SEES ALSO THE SEVEN PARADISES, AND THE BLAZING FIRE OF THE HELL
SEES ALSO THE SATAN, THE GENIE, ALSO THE DEAD PEOPLE IN THE REALM OF
BERZAH
VISALI COMPLETED HIS SPIRITUAL JOURNEY AND SAW THE GUARDED
TABLET
AND ALSO THE MYSTERY OF THE FATE, O BROTHERS, YOU, TOO
COMPLETE THE JOURNEY AND SEE THE POSTS AND BE LIKE VISALI
THERE ARE FOUR POLES ON THE GROUND OF THE HEART

ACTIONS, ATTRIBUTES AND THE SELF OF ALLAH
IN FRONT OF HIM THERE ARE KNOWLEDGE, COGNIZANCE, LOVE, THE LIGHT
OF FAITH
BEHIND HIM THERE ARE THE TRUE DREAMS, REVELATIONS AS WELL AS
INSPIRATION

As expressed very clearly in the eulogy above, if one continues to use the SEVEN
REMEDIES of the heart, the glad tidings is given that he will ascend to the heavens and see
THE ALMIGHTY THRONE AND SEAT (THE ARSH AND KURSI), the light of the beauty
of the possessor of majesty, our distinguished prophet, OTHER PROPHETS, SAINTS,
SPIRITUAL GUIDES and other sacred posts. It is hundred percent true, all of them will
happen. However, there are some other religious orders and rules to be fulfilled alongside the
five remedies. The deficiencies in them prevent one from ascending to the heavens. After
designating the principles that assure the remedy of the spiritual part, we will determine the
principles that should be KNOWN AND PUT INTO PRACTICE first.
THE REMEDY OF THE HEART, THE HEALTH OF ITS SPIRITUAL PART
The esteemed author Visali (may Allah exalt his mystery) says in his commentary on THE
EULOGY OF MUNFERICE.
O THE LOVER OF THE QUR’AN, AND OF MEETING GOD
READ THE QUR’AN CONTINUOUSLY, AND READ THE LETTERS OF THE HEART
READ AND WEEP, DECREED SO THE PROPHET
THE HEART HAS TWO PARTS, ONE OF THEM IS PHYSICAL
ITS SHAPE IS LIKE A PINE, IT IS THE CENTRE OF THE ANIMAL SPIRIT
THE OTHER IS THE REAL HEART, THE CENTRE OF THE SULTAN SOUL
IT IS THE PACE OF WISDOM; IT IS THE PLACE OF FAITH
IT IS THE MIRROR THAT ALLAH LOOKS AT, THE MOST GRACIOUS VIEWS IT
THE REMEDIES OF THE HEART ARE FIVE THAT CURE THE HEART
THE FIRST IS BEING THE ASSEMBLIES OF THE PIOUS PEOPLE, FASTING IS THE
SECOND,
THE THIRD IS RECITING THE QUR’AN, THE FOURTH IS THE NIGHT PRAYER
THE FIFTH IS ASKING FORGIVENESS AT DAWNS.

Let us explain these five remedies for the spiritual part of the heart:

1- THE ASSEMBLY OF THE PIOUS PEOPLE
Those who know the religion of Islam and practice its rules, apply its moral principles in his
life and demonstrate his Muslim identity with his actions and behaviors are called PIOUS
believers. The assemblies of the pious people are the places where these exemplary Muslims
gather. The LIGHT and BLESSINGS of Allah pours uninterruptedly unto the places they
gather as the rain pours down to fields.
In other words, DIVINE and SPIRITUAL GRACE come down. The heart is revived. For
instance in the case of the SKYLAB, THE MOON MODULE that took the astronauts to the
Moon, first the instruments, the technology etc that are needed for the departure, travel and
return of SLYLAB , were prepared, i.e. the ENVIRONMENT was made ready and the travel
to the Moon, then, took place. Likewise, the happy servants of Allah, who experience the
ASCENSION (Mi’raj) to the spiritual realms, should first have the required environment to be
able to do the Mi’raj. The five remedies of the heart are the principles that prepare this
environment and the first one of them is the assembly of THE PIOUS PEOPLE. These
assemblies must be free from, empty talks, backbiting, gossip, talking about the worldly
matters, in a way, they must cut their relation with such things.

2- FASTING
We mentioned that humans are a synthesis of the body and the spiritual subtle structure and
after its death the body decomposes and disappears until the resurrection day.
The soul and its powers, and the spiritual powers of the heart continue their existence –in the
way peculiar to them- with their subtle being. In the physical realm, even though the soul and
the heart are RULER and administrator, they continue their activeness in the body. This
activeness is the LOVE OF THE WORLD that ties the person to the world.
The prophet said in one of his hadith (peace be upon him):
“THE BEGINNING OF ALL SINS (FAULTS) IS THE LOVE OF THE WORLD”

Your love to something makes you sort of blind and deaf. The purpose of the creation and
advent to the world of the humans with his designated synthesis structure is first knowing
Allah and after affirming that he is the true God, WORSHIPPING him.
The main purpose is this. The life that lasts an average of 60-70 years should be spent on
achieving to this aim and the capital of life should be used for the said purpose.
As the noble hadith expresses, the love of the world makes humans BLIND and DEAF, the
person who is CHARACTERIZED WITH AND FULL of the love of the world is deprived of
hearing the word of ALLAH, and can not turn towards his creation aim and his life capital is
wasted. The mentioned tendency also influences THE SOUL and THE HEART in whose
structure there is the capacity and potential to turn towards the God and achieve the
ETERNAL HAPPINESS and consequently makes them inactive and lost. Thus this turns to
eternal disaster.
The life of human with the synthesis structure continues until the predestined moment of
death. THE SOUL AND HEART make this life continue. In reality the SOUL and the
HEART dominate as THE CHIEF and SUPERIOR, and the bodily structure is subordinate to
them and acts as a FUNCTIONARY. They do not replace each other; the body does not have
that power. However, a relation resembling to THE GOVERNMENT and THE PUBLIC in
the state structure occurs. Here the government manages the state and the public is the ruled
one. However the public influences the government under various situations. Determining the
reasons for this is not our expertise. Through the media, radios, televisions, public rioting and
the like, the government learns the public opinion. Thus they give the government the image
that the public wants this and this. The government is affected like this. The government that
is the ruler and the head of the execution authority with its outer appearance decreases to the
position of dependence in front of the public opinion and the public becomes SUPERIOR and
the CHIEF. Everybody is in their places. It looks so. With this example, here we try to explain
the relation of the HEART AND SOUL with the bodily structure. As the public makes the
government do whatever it likes through the public opinion, the love of the world, too,
influences the heart and makes it HEEDLESS, BLIND and DEAF towards THE LIFE IN
THE AFTERLIFE and gets it done it wishes and TAKES IT TO THE ETERNAL
EXECUTION.
FASTING cuts to the some extent and thus neutralizes THE LOVE OF THE WORLD that
captivates THE PAIR of THE HEART AND THE SOUL. From this aspect, FASTING IS A
REMEDY FOR THE HEART. Fasting in the Ramadan is obligatory (fard). If the prayers in
the Ramadan can not turn you to the spiritual realm and be enough to cure this illness of the
heart, then you should observe extra fasting. Our effendi, the sheikh of the universe (the
Prophet, pbuh), observed the following extra fasting and advised us, the ones having heart
illnesses (in the spiritual meaning).
a) Fasting in the month of Muharram: He fasted the first ten days of this month. If he can not
fast throughout these ten days for some reason, for instance an excuse, he fasted on 9th and
10th, or 10th and 11th or 9-10-11th of Muharram.
b) He fasted the first ten days of the month of dhu al hijjah :
c) The fasting on the 13-14-15th days of each lunar month. These days are called the WHITE
DAYS. The prophet Adam (peace be upon him) fasted in these days. The GRACE and
BLESSING in these days are abundant.
Sometimes our Effendi, the prophet of Allah, fasted on the MONDAYS AND THURSDAYS.
