The Night of Qadr

November 2007 The Night of Qadr Message

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim
(In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful)

“Velegad kerramnâ benî âdem”

“We created the human kind as noble and generous.”

Allahu Tealâ cc. gave all the created things on universe to Adam and made him own all these boons. In other words, He gave everything as you can think in the sea, on the earth and in the sky, to human beings and to human kind. The only repayment to these things is to worship Allah. One of these ordered worships is fasting during the month of Ramadan. The intention of these worships is to know the value of the boons and to be one of the beloved men by Allah.

In the month of Ramadan, there is the Night of Qadr (Night of Decree) when the Qur’an was sent to the earth. This night is highly valued by Allah and it was told by Rasulullah (SAV) that this night is more valuable than a thousand months in the means of worship and prayer. As it is told in the Sura of Qadr, in this night, all the angels come down to the earth and stay until
the dawn, and witness the human beings’ respects and regards for this night, worship and pray to Allah together with the human beings, and they want the forgiveness of Allah for the human beings.

In other words, they want the human beings’ worships and prayers to be accepted by Allahu Tealâ, by worshipping together.

In this night, four flags come down to the earth:

1- The Flag of Praise
2- The Flag of Mercy
3- The Flag of Forgiveness
4- The Flag of Miracle

With each of these flags, seventy thousand angels come down and on each of the flags “Lâilâheillellah Muhammedün Rasûlullah” is written.

A Hadith; Rasûlullah (SAV) says that:

“In the Night of Qadr, if a person reads “Lâilâheillellah Muhammedün Rasûlullah” three times;

At the first time; Allah forgives that person. At the second; Allah saves that person from going to hell. At the third; Allah puts that person in heaven.”

In this sacred night (Night of Qadr), The Flag of Praise is erected somewhere between the earth and the sky. The Flag of Forgiveness is erected on the tomb of Hz. Muhammed (SAV). The Flag of Mercy is erected on the roof of Kaaba. The Flag of Miracle is erected on the stone in the Beyt-i Makdis. Thus, the angels who come with these flags, come to the doors of the Muslims and visit them.

In the Night of Qadr, Allahu Tealâ sends such a mercy to the earth that this mercy reaches all the believers and there is also a lot of mercy left.

Gabriel (as.) asks: “O Lord! What should I do with the mercy left?”

Allahu Tealâ orders thus: “Distribute the mercy left to the children of the nonbelievers. In this way, these children are honored with Islam in time, and they die in the Islamic world.”

For the believers, every night is the Night of Qadr. Except for the Night of Qadr, there are lots of secret times of Allahu Tealâ when the prayers are accepted.

On Friday, the time when the prayer is accepted is the middle salah in the five times of salah, one of the secret names of Allahu Tealâ, The Greatest Name.

All the aim of these worships is to gain Allah’s consent and the human beings’ searching and finding these beauties with the pleasure of worship.

The prayer that will be said in the Night of Qadr is told us by Hz. Aisha:

“Allahumme İnneke Afuvvün tuhibbûl-afve fa’fü anni (My Lord, you are the one who forgives greatly, you love to forgive, forgive me too.)

With the end of the fasting of the month of Ramadan, all the muslims and the Muslim world congratulate each other with the pleasure of the fasting, and they serve to each other by benefiting the merits of Eid ul-Fitr.

I wish from Allahu Tealâ with respects and regards that all the friends and muslim brothers and sisters can have the mercy and blessings of Allah in these days, and they can reach these sacred days more in the future. Be entrusted to Allahu Tealâ.

As-Salamu Alaykum ( Peace be upon you)
